The ParaPeculiar Museum of Haunted Items
The ParaPeculiar Museum of Haunted Items is a living archive of the strange, curated and run by Nicole Riccardo & Damian Schillaci. What began over a decade ago as a mission to preserve the stories behind real experiences has grown into a one-of-a-kind collection built from personal cases, investigations, and objects with histories that refuse to stay quiet. That same “document it before it disappears” obsession is what birthed the ParaPeculiar podcast, where we record and preserve firsthand accounts of hauntings, UFO encounters, and high strangeness straight from the people who lived it.
This isn’t a “look but don’t touch” situation. The museum is designed to be interactive, giving guests the rare chance to engage with the collection for hands-on investigation and ongoing paranormal research, while also safeguarding the human history behind every item. If you’ve ever wished the paranormal felt less like a spooky story and more like a real case file you could step into… welcome to ParaPeculiar!
In 1987 Tim Shockey purchased me in Wilmington North Carolina. He brought me back to southern Ohio where I sat on display in his video store (Uncle Jim’s Videoland). After he sold the video store I was put in his back yard where I sat for many years. His wife didn’t like me. She tried to give me away… even ran into me with a riding mower (by accident) and knocked off my left ear. After that happened Tim moved me into his garage where I was finally out of the awful weather and away from riding mowers!
In 2011 Tim started working every evening and weekend restoring me. He worked many many hours on me building, sanding and pulling his hair out and finally on March 16, 2013 I was painted! The following weekend attended our first horror con at HorrorHound Weekend in Cincinnati, Ohio! After that weekend Tim bought me a new trailer to transport me around in. We attended over 10 shows that year! We have been to shows across the whole east coast from Maine to Florida and as far west as Western Nebraska. We also have attended many shows in Canada!
On July 25, 2021 Tim had me professionally repainted and that day just happened to be the 35th Anniversary of the Theatrical release of Maximum Overdrive!

He will take every opportunity he gets to get on stage and convince the crowd of the existence of Bigfoot, Lizard People, and many other things and will continue to do so for the rest of his days.
